About the role

At the heart of marketplace innovation is machine learning, and Nivoda is no exception. We leverage cutting-edge ML techniques to enhance our platform, optimize operations, and create new revenue streams. As a Machine Learning Model Engineer on Nivoda’s marketplace platform team, you’ll have access to proprietary data to design and deploy large-scale ML models with real-world impact. You’ll collaborate closely with skilled engineering and operations teams, working on exciting projects like inventory replenishment and optimizing global stock flows.

What you’ll do:

As the Machine Learning Model Engineer, your mission is to apply machine learning to unlock insights, optimize operations, and fuel sustainable growth. Your role will involve:

  • Develop and deploy ML solutions: Deliver production-grade machine learning models from conception to implementation, ensuring measurable business impact.
  • Design scalable ML products: Build and deploy low-latency, scalable machine learning solutions tailored to our platform’s needs.
  • Collaborate across teams: Work closely with engineering, data, infrastructure, and operations teams to streamline and optimize ML pipelines.
  • Stakeholder communication: Engage with business stakeholders to understand requirements, manage expectations, and build clear roadmaps for ML initiatives.
  • Enhance existing models: Continuously improve and scale up our existing machine learning solutions to meet growing business demands.
  • Ensure product health: Partner with the operations team to monitor and maintain the health of deployed models.
  • Introduce new technologies: Work with external partners to integrate the latest ML features and tools into our platform.
  • Stay ahead of trends: Research and experiment with the latest machine learning technologies, creating prototypes and proof-of-concepts for new features.
  • Innovate: Design and implement next-generation models using advanced machine learning techniques.

Your experience and qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related fields
  • 5+ years of industry experience with a Master’s degree or 3+ years of industry experience with a PhD degree
  • Solid theoretical background in machine learning and/or data mining
  • Rich hands-on experience with production-grade machine learning solutions
  • Proficiency in mainstream ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Spark ML, etc.)
  • Experience with mainstream big data tools (e.g., MapReduce, Spark, Flink, Kafka, etc.)
  • Extensive programming experience in Python, Go, or other OOP languages
  • Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles
  • Proficiency in SQL and databases
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to drive cross-functional partnerships

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science or related fields
  • Publications in top relevant venues (e.g., TPAMI, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, KDD, WWW, AAAI, IJCAI, etc.)
  • Experience with inventory management, ecommerce or a related discipline
