We’re Pangolia—one of the fastest-growing pet companies, on a mission to create the biggest, most helpful pet company in the world. Our largest sites are Catster.com, Dogster.com, Hepper.com, and PangoVet.com, visited by more than 36 million pet lovers every year, and we’re undergoing rapid growth.
Our media sites are all built on WordPress, and our own cat furniture e-commerce brand, Hepper, is running on WooCommerce.
In this position, you would be the lead web developer, responsible for fixing issues, proactively keeping our sites secure, and building new features. We’re a 100% remote company, allowing you the freedom to work from anywhere. It’s a full-time position (40 hours a week), but you can plan your own schedule and work whenever suits you. You will become an integral member of our team at Pangolia consisting of a diverse group of more than 30 talented individuals from all over the world, collaborating on the goal of building the biggest, most helpful pet company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Make our websites the fastest loading compared to competitors while reducing display ads.
- Build out the Hepper.com e-commerce experience, including revamping checkout and category pages.
- Clear the backlog of tasks that have piled up.
- Hire 1-2 additional developers for your department in the next 3-4 months and manage their work.
Expectations:
- Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, and PHP.
- MySQL database management experience.
- Proficient in WordPress development (themes, plugins, etc.)
- Familiarity with build tools like Webpack or ViteJS.
- Understanding of Composer, SSH, and Git.
