The Role

LOOP is looking for a Lead Software Engineer with Rails and React experience to lead development efforts across our personal productivity and compliance products. You will work with the CEO to set roadmaps, lead the existing development team, maintain the platform, and deliver features through hands-on development work.

We’re looking for a strategic leader, technical team supervisor, and a product advocate. You will play an integral role in the future of our company, overseeing initiatives across the entire product lifecycle. The ideal candidate has experience working with development teams to take ownership of a product delivery pipeline, communicate effectively among all stakeholders, and deliver results consistently. This position will play a vital role in building tools that empower our users and our company.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for partnering with the CEO and the Design teams to bring vision/concept into live product
  • Own the development of features end-to-end, both as a leader and as an individual contributor
  • Drive the technical vision and development of our platform
  • Grow and mentor the engineering function (off-prem)

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have the following:

  • 3+ years of experience as a senior engineer, leading and mentoring others within high-growth startups
  • 8+ years of direct hands-on development experience
  • Full-stack development experience working with Ruby on Rails and React
  • Thrive working in a high-growth startup environment (where change is a constant!)
  • Proven experience mentoring and leading other developers
  • Flexibility; you are able to adjust and adapt to changes in the business environment as well as in the industry
  • You can balance technical feasibility concerns along with user experience and business goals, weighing quick wins with long-term investments appropriately
  • Strong people management skills with proven success in motivating and mentoring contract developers, including providing clear technical direction and code review.

Nice to haves include:

  • Experience working in the Personal Productivity or Compliance tech space is preferred
  • Experience working with large companies as a vendor or employee
