The Role:

LOOP is seeking a Lead Software Engineer with experience in Rails and React to spearhead development across our personal productivity and compliance products. In this role, you’ll collaborate with the CEO to set roadmaps, guide the development team, maintain our platform, and deliver features through hands-on coding.

As a strategic leader, technical team supervisor, and product advocate, you will have a significant impact on the company’s future, overseeing initiatives throughout the entire product lifecycle. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of working with development teams to manage a product delivery pipeline, ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders while consistently delivering results. This position is crucial for creating tools that empower our users and enhance our company.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the CEO and Design teams to bring vision/concept into a live product.
  • Own end-to-end development of features, as both a leader and an individual contributor.
  • Drive the technical vision and development of our platform.
  • Mentor and grow the engineering function (off-prem).

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will have the following:

  • 3+ years of experience as a senior engineer, with experience leading and mentoring others in high-growth startups.
  • 8+ years of direct, hands-on development experience.
  • Full-stack development experience with Ruby on Rails and React.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-growth startup environment where change is constant.
  • Proven experience in mentoring and leading developers.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes in the business and industry.
  • Ability to balance technical feasibility with user experience and business objectives, weighing quick wins against long-term investments.
  • Strong people management skills with a history of successfully motivating and mentoring contract developers, including providing clear technical guidance and code review.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience in the Personal Productivity or Compliance tech space preferred.
  • Experience working with large companies as a vendor or employee.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive pay (we assign value to the role rather than basing it on location).
  • Equity in LOOP.
  • Remote work with the option to operate in your preferred time zone (minimum 4 hours overlap with East Coast US working hours).
  • Unlimited PTO with a minimum requirement of 3 days/quarter used.
  • 100% health insurance coverage.
  • $500 one-time stipend for home office needs.
  • $100/month book stipend.

Inclusivity Statement:
At LOOP, we value building a diverse team and are committed to diversity, equality, and inclusion. We strive to cultivate a culture where everyone, regardless of background, feels included, supported, and free to be themselves.

If your experience is close to what we’re looking for, we encourage you to apply. We recognize that experience comes in many forms—skills are transferable, and passion matters. We are dedicated to incorporating new perspectives into our team and invite everyone to apply.
