The Opportunity at Komodo Health

At Komodo Health, the QA team plays a vital role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and usability of Komodo’s suite of products through automation. The team focuses on automating APIs, user interfaces, and building robust application automation frameworks. Engineers are responsible for developing comprehensive strategies for tools and test automation.

As a Senior Software Engineer in Automation Engineering within the platform organization, you will take charge of application automation, particularly focusing on the Studio platform. Studio is Komodo’s platform, providing critical functionality to customers. Your role will involve more than conventional automation—you will establish new standards in automation practices, drive innovation by building tools and processes to enhance application quality and reliability at Komodo.

Application automation is essential to Komodo’s business success. While your expertise will be central to building and refining automation frameworks, we emphasize collaboration with product managers, developers, and clinical specialists to ensure comprehensive automation coverage. You will join a dynamic engineering team committed to setting new standards in tools and automation, contributing significantly to Komodo’s continued success.

Looking back on your first 12 months at Komodo Health, you will have…

  • Developed or used the existing automation frameworks to validate application workflows, APIs, and user interfaces across different layers of the platform
  • Lead automation efforts, ensuring alignment with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices
  • Performed API automation and application performance testing using modern automation frameworks
  • Driven process improvements to elevate overall application automation and quality standards
  • Analyzed, debugged, and documented issues, collaborating with stakeholders to conduct root cause analysis and implement effective resolutions
  • Participated in cross-functional projects and initiatives involving application automation, such as migrations, system upgrades, or new feature launches
  • Regularly communicated with stakeholders, including product managers, business analysts, and end-users, to understand requirements, gather feedback, and align automation efforts with business goals

These are the essential job duties you will be responsible for:

  • Create detailed test automation strategies
  • Create new frameworks and learn to manage existing ones
  • Collaborate with QA engineers, product managers, data engineers and full stack engineers
  • Build CI/CD pipelines and oversee execution
  • Providing actionable reports and insights
  • Be able to troubleshoot and debug problems in various environments

What you bring to Komodo Health (required):

  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Ability to conduct automated API testing using tools like Swagger, Postman and libraries like REST Assured, Requests.
  • Experience writing SQL queries and working with Relational Databases
  • Proficiency in implementing test automation for complex web and cloud products
  • Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively, in a fast-paced and demanding agile environment

Roles may be completely remote based anywhere in the country listed, remote but based in a specific region, or local (commuting distance) to one of our hubs in San Francisco, New York City, or Chicago with remote work options.
