Sr. Data Engineer | Remotive

Role Description

This role contributes to internal strategy and roadmap for one or more areas of Xfinity Mobile wireless and new wireless growth initiatives in Comcast Emerging Wireless.

• Perform complex research and analysis of market, technology, standards, competitive trends and projections.
• Responsible for overseeing design, implementation and evaluation of data engineering products.
• Guide multiple engineering teams to successfully deploy and operate products and applications.
• Provide guidance and leadership to other researchers in developing novel ways to solve problems and discover new products.
• Collaborate and influence teams and work cross-functionally.
• Integrate knowledge of business and functional priorities.
• Act as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment.
• Lead teams, projects, and share expertise.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline required
• 4+ years of experience in software development, data engineering, or data science
• Solid understanding of Apache Spark architecture, components, and concepts
• Proficiency in Spark programming using languages like Python/Scala and SQL
• Understanding of cluster management, configuration, and optimization in Databricks
• Ability to translate business requirements to a proposed technical solution
• Familiar with programming, object-oriented design, and application development skills (Python, Scala, SQL)
• Experience with AWS Solutions, GitHub, and Agile Development
• Knowledge of Grafana, Tableau, CARTO, and/or Power BI

Requirements

• Analyze large, complex data to determine actionable business insights using self-service analytics and reporting tools.
• Combine data as needed from disparate data sources to complete analysis.
• Communicate findings clearly and concisely through narrative-driven presentations and effective data visualizations to Company executives and decision makers.
