Who you are
You are someone who people go to with the hardest technical problems. You love designing systems that scale and have a high bar for correctness, but understand the tradeoffs of balancing the business needs with perfect technical design. You know these types of systems cannot be built alone, and you want to build an organization around what you know are the proper, best practices for long-term scalability.
The ideal candidate will have:
– 5+ years working with distributed systems and relational databases at scale, with some portion directly optimizing for performance and scalability
– 3+ years managing and growing platform or infrastructure engineering teams
– Experience building B2B enterprise software
– Experience with many of the following technologies / platforms:
– C# / .NET platform / EF Core
– Kubernetes
– PostgreSQL — especially if the cluster was sharded
– Kafka
– OpenSearch / ElasticSearch
– Redis / Valkey
– AWS
About your role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing, coaching, and growing a team of platform and infrastructure engineers
- Define and execute on a platform roadmap for maintaining the scalability and reliability needs of Vesta
- Define and evangelize best practices and technical standards to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of other product engineering teams
- Lead forecasting and budgeting for ensuring proper capacity planning to support the business’ needs
- Own the security and compliance posture for all platform and infrastructure services, including audits, risk assessments, and regulatory requirements (e.g. SOC 2)
- Manage the development and maintenance of the Vesta Public API
- Being an advocate for engineering excellence

Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $200,000 – $300,000/yr. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed.
